Meet Our Team

I opened Capelli in Westport in 2006. the success of our salon to date is down to our wonderful team who are as committed and passionate about hair as I am.
Capelli is not one person it’s all of us together and it’s the teamwork that makes us great.

I trained in London with Vidal Sassoon, before moving to Dublin to open my own salon. from the bright city lights, I heard Croagh Patrick calling and in 2006 moved to Westport and opened Capelli.

The standard of hairdressing in Westport is very high which is fantastic because it pushes us all to be the best.

I trained in the Mayo College of Hairdressing gaining my NVQ level 2. I joined Capelli when I was completing my work experience and I am still here 10 years later! I love meeting customers, discussing with them what style they are going for and making sure they are comfortable and enjoy the down time. I enjoy the colouring side of hairdressing the most. It gives you great scope to completely change someones look and work with rich warm tones.

Working with Capelli is like a home away from home, we have lovely customers and they say if you love what you do you will never work a day in your life, that’s me.

I’m working at Capelli for 10 years. I trained in William Thomas Hairdressing in Westport and attended cutting, colour and styling courses in Dublin, Galway as well as in-house.The best part of working at Capelli is the clients we have all built up. I love the fact that people trust me to give them a new look and to see the joy and confidence that the ‘reveal’ gives them, it makes the job worthwhile.

On a personal note, I am married with 3 beautiful children, who mean the world to me. I love going out meeting people and entertaining them with a bar of a song (now if only I knew the words).

I started hairdressing, 19 years ago with an apprenticeship in William Thomas, before qualifying with the Irish Hairdressing Federation. I then moved to Dublin where I upskilled further for 2 years through night courses. During this time I managed 3 salons in Newcastle, Nass and Suncroft. I love the changes in hairdressing and am also qualified in great lengths hair extensions.

I moved back to Westport 7 years ago to continue my love affair with hair. I love hairdressing, the team and the clients at Capelli. They are a great bunch of people to work with. I love the challenge of colours and up styles and get a great pleasure in seeing the results. Outside of the salon I like playing sports and going to music festivals

I am a skilled professional, trained in make-up artistry, nail manicurist and nail artistry. I am a certified CND Shellac service provider and have 7 years’ experience.

I further updated my skills and trained to be a certified nail artist with NSI Nail and Beauty System LTD iin Dublin. I also trained in the beauty institute in Athlone for All About Eyes.

I love working in Capelli, the staff are just the best, we all get on great and work together to make the clients feel good.
I have a passion for making people feel good about themselves. I especially love the creativity of nail artistry.

Originally from North Mayo I completed my hairdressing training in Sligo, I then moved to Galway where I spent 14 years working in the industry.

I enjoy all aspects of hairdressing especially colour. I love change and final colour correction. It’s fun and challenging and you get great satisfaction seeing a happy customer.

I enjoy having the craic with all the team, so working at Capelli suits me perfectly as it’s such a friendly salon

My career in hairdressing spans for over 25 years. I had my own salon in Dublin for 5 years and then moved to Westport working in William Thomas. I was a co founder of Capelli in 2006 with Suzanne. I have taken 2 years out but I have truly missed the salon and my clients. I am delighted to have returned and to be part of the Capelli team again. I love hairdressing in particular up-styling and bridal work.

I always loved hair, I guess it runs in the genes as my Grandfather was a Ladies and Gents hairdresser and my Mum followed in his footsteps so naturally I did the same. I started my apprenticeship with my Mum shampooing and then moved to a salon in Castlebar where I began to learn my trade and complete some work experience before completing my qualification with The Mayo College of Hairdressing.

I enjoy reading non-fiction, poetry and walking.
I love hairdressing as I get to meet new people and making them feel good. I enjoy working at capelli, it’s like having another family everyone is kind caring understanding and we all have a great laugh, when it’s time to work we work and when it’s time to play we play.
